SWAT: The renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil said that the northern part of Pakistan was a piece of Heaven where tourists could enjoy the scenic sights and pleasant weather in a peaceful environment.
He was speaking to local media persons after inaugurating the Pearl Continental hotel at Malam Jabba on Saturday evening. The Malam Jabba ski resort and the hotel was destroyed in 2008 during the militancy in Swat and after ten years the hotel and the ski resort was rehabilitated.
Maulana Tariq Jamil offered prayers for the safety of the region and said that Swat valley was one of the most beautiful places in the world. “I came to Malam Jabba for the first time and found it very charming and attractive, no doubt it is a piece of paradise. I have been to many countries and travelled to different countries famous for natural beauty but I must claim that our country, especially the northern areas are not less beautiful than any part of the world,” he said.
He said that the northern belt of Pakistan was matchless in beauty where three gigantic mountain ranges meet. “We have several peaks which are among the world’s highest. God has bestowed upon us one of the most charming and scenic countries in the world which we have got after unlimited sacrifices,” he said and added that it was our duty to stand united and live with love and affection with each other to serve our land collectively.
Local people and tourists expressed their excitement and said that happiness returned to the beautiful valley and tourism was once again revived.
“Opening of a five-star hotel in this region is an encouraging factor for the promotion of tourism, particularly, for international tourists,” said Waseem Ur Rehman chief executive at Samson Group of Companies.
Tourists who were at Malam Jabba said that the beauty of the valley was beyond comparison where they enjoyed a lot. “Construction of high class and standard facilities will send a message that perfect peace has returned to the valley which will definitely promote tourism here,” said Samina Ali, a tourist from Lahore.
