PESHAWAR: The weather turned chillier in different parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as plain and hilly areas received rain and snowfall for the second consecutive day on Friday.
The weather also turned cold in the provincial capital as it received a light shower. The light shower in provincial capital started in the morning and continued with intervals till evening. There were also reports of rain from other districts of the province. Upper parts of Hazara, Swat, Dir and Upper Chitral also received snowfall.
According to weather pundits, isolated rain-thunderstorm is expected in districts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and Islamabad today (Saturday).
During the last 24 hours widespread rain/wind-thunderstorm occurred in districts of south Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at scattered places in districts of north/central Balochistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir while at isolated places in districts of north Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad.
The weather remained cloudy and dry elsewhere in the country. On Friday Pasni in Balochistan received 76 millimeter rain followed by Turbat 34, Dalbandin, Pasni 30, Panjgur 25, Pishin 23, Chaman 22, Gwadar 18, Jiwani 17, Mastung 13, Kalat 12 Quetta 10, Nokkundi, Ziarat 09, Khuzdar 03, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Pattan 26, Dir (upper 24, lower 09), Malamjabba 17 while hilly areas received the snowfall. Lowest minimum temperatures were Kalam -02°C, Malam Jabba and Gupis 0°C.
