Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has announced 40 percent discount of winter package of motels for the tourists visiting Northern areas of the country to enjoy snowfall.
An official of the PTDC said that the purpose of the package is to facilitate the local and foreign tourists. The tourists resorts in KP include: Motels at Saidu Sharif, Kalam (Swat), Miandam (Swat), Panakot (Dir), Bamburet (Chitral), Bunni (Chitral), Birmoglasht (Chitral), Main Chitral, Mastuj (Chitral), Chattar Plain (Mansehra), Besham (Shangla), Balakot, Naran, Torkham and at Ayubia (Abbottabad). In Balochistan PTDC owns only one Motel at Taftan.
The locations of resorts and hotels owned by PTDC in Punjab are Motels at Taxila, Wagha Lahore and Bahawalpur.
In GB, motels at Gilgit, Gupis (Ghizer), Hunza, Phandar (Ghizer), Rama Lake (Astore), Sust, Astak (Skardu), Khaplu (Ghanche), Satpara (Skardu) and Motel at Skardu. PTDC also owns a restaurant at Damn-e-Koh.
“We are the most hospitable people in the world, there are countless opportunities for investment in tourism sector of Pakistan,” he added. The number of foreign tourist arrivals (on tourist visa) during year 2013 was 10,560, during 2014 was 5,575, in 2015 was 6475 and 9161 foreign tourists visited Pakistan in 2016.
