Head of Zeus has appointed ex-Orion group publicity and communications director Helen Richardson as publicity consultant.
Reporting to sales director Dan Groenewald, Richardson will work with freshly appointed communications director Chrissy Ryan and her new team. She joined the indie on 8th April.
Richardson departed Orion in January after nearly two decades with the company. While there she produced successful campaigns for bestselling writers like Michael Connelly and Ian Rankin, alongside high-profile campaigns for authors including Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and Philippe Sand’s East West Street, which won the Baillie Gifford Prize and was named Non-Fiction Book of the Year 2017 at the British Book Awards.
Prior to joining Orion in 1999, Richardson was at Transworld where her achievements included launching Joanne Harris’ Chocolat.
Richardson said: “I am thrilled to be starting my freelance career with Head of Zeus. This is an exciting time for the company as it expands its communications department and I am looking forward to working closely with Dan and Chrissy on developing the enormous potential of the team and helping to grow the business.”
The appointment of Ryan at HoZ was announced last month, along with the addition of Jade Gwilliam as communications manager. It followed a number of high-profile departures from the indie.
Ryan said: “Helen is the perfect partner to work with us to develop the new team. The team, and our authors, will benefit from her vast knowledge and experience, and I am very much looking forward to working closely with her at this exciting time.”
